TEDx Statement

This independent TEDx event is operated under licence from TED. TEDxYouth @Bath brings together young people from across the community to share ideas worth spreading, with morning talks followed by afternoon discussions run in World Cafe format.

TEDxYouthBath brings together a vibrant community of curious minds, young and old, under the banner of ideas worth spreading. The event is designed to spark conversation and inspire action among a generation eager to make a difference. From science and art to social justice and technology, the talks cover a wide spectrum of disciplines, encouraging attendees to think differently about the world around them. It is a day built on shared experiences, where local voices join a global movement, and where every conversation has the potential to lead to something extraordinary. The energy in the room is palpable, driven by a collective passion for learning and discovery.

The morning session, which drew adult attendees alongside younger participants, offered a unique intergenerational experience. It provided a space where seasoned professionals and enthusiastic students could exchange perspectives, learning from one another in an open forum. The organisers carefully curated this portion of the day to ensure that the magic of live ideas reached as broad an audience as possible. Although adult tickets sold out quickly due to overwhelming demand, the spirit of inclusion remained central to the event's mission. Those who joined were treated to a front-row seat to some of the most thought-provoking talks of the day, surrounded by a community united by intellectual curiosity.

Behind every TEDxYouthBath event lies a dedicated team of volunteers, speakers, and local partners who work tirelessly to create an unforgettable experience. From the selection of speakers to the design of the venue and the production of the livestream, every detail is handled with care and intention. The team draws on talent from across the region, including students, educators, creatives, and business leaders, all contributing their unique skills to a shared vision. This collaborative spirit is what gives the event its distinctive character, blending professional polish with the raw enthusiasm of a grassroots movement. It is a testament to what a community can achieve when it rallies around a common purpose.

For those unable to attend in person, the livestream ensured that the ideas shared on stage reached audiences far beyond the venue walls. This digital window allowed viewers from around the world to tune in and participate in the experience from wherever they were. It reflects the core TEDx principle of making ideas accessible to all, regardless of geography or circumstance. The talks recorded that day continue to live on, inspiring new conversations and sparking further action long after the event has ended. Whether experienced in person or online, the impact of TEDxYouthBath extends far beyond a single day, planting seeds of change that grow within each viewer and ripple outward into their own communities.
